This template was built by King Dutugamunu and one of the most valuable ancient temple in Kurunegala district. There’s well maintained infrastructure for visitors including rest rooms. There’s a restaurant for visitors in outside the temple.

A calm and quite temple of which history goes all the way back to Anuradhapura kingdom. A tranquil environment with caves and many other sceneries. There is a trekking you can go to Pahangala as well. Situated in Ridigama village in Kurunegala district. Can reach easily by any vehicle.

Such a peaceful temple. Ridiviharaya has so much to offer including free luxury rooms for guests (check Ridiviharaya Pilgrims Rest on Google Maps). The temple is beautiful and huge. You can walk to Kela Pansala and see meditation rooms and caves. If you climb the Pahangala, you can get an aerial view of the entire area. There are great arts and statues here in the temple as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone who are traveling around Kurunegala.

Incredible. So well preserved. Amazing cave temple. Staff working there went out of their way to help you.Wished I had arrived earlier as needed more time to take it all in.Recommend 2hr visit if you want to thoroughly visit the caves and monks pilgrim area.

A must worship / visit Temple, with a lot valuable history.King Dutugemunu supposed to have found "Ridee" (Silver) from here and transported to Anuradhapura in order to build sacred "Ruwanweli Maha Seya. 🙏⭐

Ridi Viharaya (රිදී විහාරය) or Silver Temple is a 2nd-century BCE Buddhist temple in the village of Ridigama, Srilanka. Built during the reign of Dhutugamunu of Anuradhapura, the temple is considered as the place where the silver ore, which provided silver to complete Ruwanwalisaya one of the largest stupa in Sri Lanka, was discovered. Very peaceful place to visit in normal day. One of the beautiful temple which i have seen in Srilanka. More like to Dambulla cave tample.
